Spectacular Science

It has been a few weeks since I've updated the blog, but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy learning and playing here at Mt. Calvary.  The kids have really been enjoying the marble run lately during free play time.  It is fun to see them work together to create new designs or to see them figure out a new design all on their own.
Water play is always fun during center time.
Play dough is always a hit too.  The kids enjoyed making many different number combinations with the cookie cutters.
Mr. Ryan taught us a fun science lesson about explosions.  He showed us a car propelled by diet soda and Mentos.  Then we tried the same experiment with vinegar and compared how far the car went each time.  The vinegar car definitely went faster!

We finished up with a soda geyser and that was lots of fun too.

We have been talking this week about people around the world and how God loves all people.  We have also learned a little about geography this week.  We looked at the globe and learned the 7 continents with a fun song.  We also talked about the Holy Spirit and our Bible story was Pentecost.  The kids made their own flames to wear over their head just like the disciples.  We focused on the letter I and the number 9.  We hope you all enjoyed meeting with Miss Hannah this week to talk about your child's progress so far this year.  We certainly enjoy the time we get to spend with your children each week.
