Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall

We have been working on learning the four seasons this week.  We learned a fun song to help everyone remember them.  If you want your child to sing it for you, here are the words.  It is sung to the tune of "This Old Man."
This morning we built a house together out of some fun giant Lincoln Logs one of our families brought in for us to try out.  Then Miss Hannah used the house to tell our Bible story of the week, Jesus heals a paralyzed man.  What a fun way to tell a story!

Free play time is always full of fun!
Our letter for the week is "S" so we have been working on that all week, but we also spend time reviewing the other letters we have already learned.  Everyone is doing very well with their letter recognition.

Fun With Friends

We are so blessed to have such great friends here at Mt. Calvary.  For part of the morning, we split the kids up into two smaller groups while we do centers and snack/free play time.  These groups are different every day so they have time to interact and play with children that they might not normally pair up with when we are all together.  It is fun to see them develop new friendships and come up with new ideas for cooperative play during this time.
When they are all together they still manage to come up with fun new ways to play everyday.  Here they are having a picnic together outside.
We had a very special treat this morning.  Mr. Chris Driesbach, a Christian musician from Alabama, put on a concert for us in the church.  It was so much fun to sing along with him!
We are still working hard at all our kindergarten skills every week.  We practiced writing names today, worked on some cutting skills, and talked about the book, The Little Red Hen.  We have learned all the letters from A-R and can now count to 24!

Look Mom, No Coats!

The snow is melting fast.  Hooray for a week (or could we hope for maybe two) without snow gear!  We are enjoying the warm weather while it lasts.  We also enjoyed a fun Valentine's Day celebration this week.  Thank you to all the parents who helped make this party a success.  We had lots of fun activities.

We had some fun with the photo booth.
We had lots of fun giving and receiving Valentines with all our Mt. Calvary friends.
And of course we had some good food to go with it.
Last week we talked about the Good Samaritan.  We took turns practicing being a Good Samaritan to our classmates and talked about how we can help others too.
It doesn't take too much practice with these kiddos though.  They are already very kind and helpful to each other.  It is so much fun to watch them all work and play together each week.

Snow Much Fun!

We were just starting to see the playground peek through all the snow last week.  Now we are back to a winter wonderland outside.  It's a good thing these kids all love the snow!  I wonder how many snow days we are going to end up with before this winter is over?
We tried to make a snowman today, but the snow is still too fluffy, so instead Miss Linda showed everyone how to throw the snow in the air and make it sparkle in the sun.

During circle time, everyone pretended to be snowflakes and did a snowflake dance.
This week we will be reviewing all the letters from A-Q, and working on the number 22.  Everyone is doing so well counting to 20 now!  You might also notice that more and more of our cute kiddos are writing their own names on their papers.

It's no wonder these kids are all doing so well learning their letters and numbers,
Miss Hannah makes learning so much fun!
