Happy Friday!

Today is not only Friday but also the last day of January!  I wanted to post a few pictures from this month.

Every Friday a parent volunteer comes and does a science lesson with the children.  It is always very exciting for the children and is something we definitely look forward to throughout the week.  Here are some photos from our science experiment with Mr. Marty a few Fridays ago.  We learned all about gases through an experiment using Mentos and diet cola.  It was AWESOME and super exciting!!

We are so thankful for our parent volunteers!
Woah!!
Miss Hannah captured the soda bubbles in action!!

Here are some shots of our cute kids out on the playground this month.
Cheese!!
Charlee's getting so big!
Play time!
Hi Aria!

We also wanted to give a special thanks Mr. Andrew and Mr. Marty, who are putting a new roof on our sandbox.  It is so awesome to have such helpful parents here at Mount Calvary!!
You guys are awesome!

Last but not least, I wanted to share a precious moment from this morning.  While dancing to the Monster Mash, two of our children were holding hands and dancing together.  When I went to take their picture, they both stuck their tongues out, which made the photo a million times more adorable.

If that doesn't say "Happy Friday," I don't know what does!
I hope you all have a safe and blessed weekend!

Peace and joy,
Miss Brooklyn

M O N S T E R V I L L E

A few weeks ago, we worked on a craft that could quite possibly be in the running for my favorite activity we've done this year.  In celebration of learning the letter 'M,' we made monsters.  The children were invited to decorate their monster with eyes, teeth, pipe cleaners, fabric, foam, etc.  I have to admit that our monsters turned out to be more cute than scary.

Aren't we cute?!
Another fun part about this project is that we interviewed each child about their monster.  Their answers were HILARIOUS and absolutely adorable.  I wanted to share a few in case you didn't get the opportunity to read them.

I love talking to children and listening to their thoughts and ideas, but there's something extra special about having it down on paper.  There is nothing quite like the beautiful, creative mind of a child.

Peace and joy,
Miss Brooklyn

A "Beary" Special Craft

Today at the art center, we worked on decorating a very special project that was made and donated by Mr. Andrew.  He made each child a bear out of wood from pine trees.  They are truly amazing!  We set out pom poms, googly eyes, ribbon, buttons, feathers, and many other materials for decorating.  It was so fun to watch the children be creative and enjoy the bear that Mr.Andrew had made just for them!  Here is a snapshot of some of the bears that were decorated today.  We will work on them more tomorrow.

We are "beary" cute!
We wanted to give a special thank you to Mr. Andrew for taking the time to create these bears for every child.  They are extremely special!

Peace and joy,
Miss Brooklyn
