Christmas Party

Hello, friends!  Today was our Christmas Party!
It was absolutely amazing and SO MUCH FUN!  We made Christmasy crafts, ate snacks, played in our bounce house, enjoyed a treat walk, decorated Christmas cookies, and received a special visit from Santa!  We also watched a Veggie Tales movie about the true meaning of Christmas.  As always, we want to give a huge thank you to every parent volunteer, as well as every donation.  I probably sound like a broken record, but I am always truly amazed at the amount of parent help we are blessed with.  It is such a gift.

The other teachers and I had prepared gifts for the children, which were handed out at the party.  Some children had to wait longer than others as we passed them out, as there were roughly thirty bags to be dispersed.  They were so patient, though!  The children were also very gracious.  I can't tell you how many of them came up to hug me and say thank you!

In addition to seeing the children's enjoyment of the party, as well as their gratitude for their gifts, my favorite part of the party was the visit from Santa.  Santa sang a few carols with us, and then reminded us of the true significance of Christmas.  He told us the story of Jesus's birth.  This is the true reason why we celebrate Christmas.  We celebrate the birth of our Savior!  I was so touched by Santa's visit, as he focused on this important truth.  He even led us in singing Happy Birthday to Jesus.  So, so beautiful.

Again, thank you to all who made this party so special!  From all of us staff here at Mount Calvary, Merry Christmas, and a happy, blessed, new year!  We look forward to seeing you all in January.

Peace and joy,
Miss Brooklyn

Preparing for Christmas

Holiday Handlettered watercolor prints by TheSimpleCityShop
Hello, friends!  Today's post is going to be short and sweet.  I didn't have an opportunity to take photos this week-I've been working like a maniac on my finals!  The photos we do have from the past week are a little bit of a Christmas surprise, of which you will see on Christmas morning :).

Miss Hannah and the children, as well as the lovely Miss Rae have been working on preparing the classroom and hallway for Christmas.  There are so many beautiful Christmas/winter decorations to look at!  Please take a chance to admire the work on our hallway walls when you pick up/drop off your child.  Please also check out the bulletin board Miss Rae made, which is up directly across the door from our room.  She took pictures of every child and put them in a playful, snowy scene.  It is the CUTEST!!  Thanks Miss Rae!

Like I said, the pictures are few this week.  My apologies!  Nonetheless, please enjoy these photographs of your children preparing our school for the celebration of Christmas.

These cuties are ready for Christmas, don't you think?!

Thanksgiving Party

About two weeks ago we had our Thanksgiving party.  It was a lot of fun!  We played games, worked on Thanksgiving puzzles, made crafts, ate yummy snacks, and shared what we are thankful for this year.  Thank you to all the parents who made this party happen.  Each and every one of you is so greatly appreciated.
A couple of siblings, a lot of cuties!
Miss Hannah is so silly!
What are you thankful for?

Hi Lydia!  Hi Awen!
So fun!
Giving thanks
Goofy guys!

I hope these pictures communicate how special and fun our party was.  Moments like these are so memorable for the children, as well as for us.

I wanted to share one more picture with you this week, even though it isn't from the Thanksgiving party-my current favorite!  I took this of Kellan on Monday.  He was drawing on an easel, and would rotate between a marker in his hand and a marker behind his ear.  It was the CUTEST.  He was so into his art that he didn't even notice me watching him or taking his picture.

Thank you for checking the blog and expressing interest in your child's education.  It fills my heart when I check the blog and see that it has been viewed.

Peace and joy,
Miss Brooklyn
