Be My Valentine

How cute are these little Valentines?
I think it is safe to say that our Valentine's Day party was a big success.
Just look at those cute smiles all around!
Thanks again to all those parents who help us make these parties so much fun for our preschoolers.

We have also been busy building.
Our construction center is always popular, and it is always fun to see how creative these kids can be.
We have also been busy trying out all of our new STEM toys.
We love our science lessons too.
Today we learned all about clouds, evaporation, and precipitation.

Community Helpers

We just finished learning all about community helpers last week at Mt. Calvary Preschool.  This is always such a fun unit for all the kids.  There are so many great ways we can help make our community a better place to work, play, and live.
We had some very busy community helpers here in Flagstaff a few weeks ago, clearing snow off the roads so we could all get back to school.  There was still plenty of snow left to play in on our playground though.
We also had lots of catching up to do in our classroom.  Thankfully these kids are always excited to learn and play with us each day.

Goldfish crackers make learning colors lots of fun!
We love to read to each other.
Counting with spaghetti and fruit loops was a big hit.  We have learned all of our numbers up to 19!

We love our dramatic play time too.

Happy New Year!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and Winter break.  We had some computer troubles last month so I wasn't able to update the blog in December, but everything is back up and running and it's time for a little photo catch up.

We had a great Christmas party!  The kids all had so much fun rotating through all the stations and doing all the projects.  These snowman and Santa Claus cupcakes turned out so cute!

They always love to burn off a little energy in the bounce house too.
Thank you to all our parent volunteers who helped make this party such a success!
We had lots of Christmas themed centers in December too.

We are moving right along with our curriculum for the year.  This week we are working on the letter N, and are reviewing the numbers 11-15.  It is always fun to see the progress these kids make through the year.  They really love to learn!

We have also had lots of fun playing in the snow.  That last storm gave us lots of opportunities to practice putting on and taking off all of the snow gear.  They are starting to get more and more independent with this process.  It sounds like we are going to be getting lots more practice next week!
