D is for Dog

Last week was a busy week here at Mt Calvary!  We learned all about the letter D and our theme just happened to be dogs.  We started off by making our own Dalmatian masks.  The kids sure make some cute little puppy dog faces.

During centers the kids pretended to be a veterinarian, and took care of lots of sick dogs.  They will make great doggy doctors some day.

We had a science lesson on Tuesday and learned all about bones!  The kids really enjoyed singing a song about their bones and exploring the bones on the skeleton.

The Palsmobile came on Wednesday.  The kids enjoyed hearing a story and picking out one to take home to read.
Our number last week was 4, so we spent lots of time talking about the number 4 and reviewing the numbers 1, 2, and 3.
The sensory bins were a big hit as always.
Our Bible story for the week was The Prodigal Son, and that tied in well with our Bible Truth, "God loves me no matter what."  We sure love our friends here at Mt Calvary too!

This week we started the letter E and our week has been all about elephants.  We read the story of Elmer the elephant and made our own Elmer out of milk jugs.  They should be on display in the foyer very soon.  Thank you for all the milk jug donations!
Pretending to be an elephant is so much fun!

We had another science lesson on bones with Mr. Ryan.  Then the kids made their own x-rays of their hands with q-tips and glue.

We have been learning about The Creation of Adam and Eve this week and have been busy practicing our songs to sing in church soon.  Everyone should have a copy of the words to our songs in their cubbies today with their newsletter.  Please practice them with your children if you have a chance.  They are so excited to sing for all of you in a couple weeks!
