Discovering Animals & Practicing Our Roar

This week, Miss Rae did an AWESOME science lesson with us!  She brought in real animal skins and skulls, which she got through Arizona Game and Fish.  She also brought pictures of the animals whom the skins and skulls once belonged to, as well as a tarp painted with animal tracks for us to examine.  There was a beaver, a deer, a bear, a javelina, a fox, a coyote, a mountain lion...the list goes on and on!  I have to say that the children were a little more scared than we'd anticipated.  Many of the children were very brave, but others were a little timid!  Some of them seemed unsure whether or not the animals were really dead.  Others seemed really concerned about how the animals died.  Thank you Miss Rae for your time and energy in making this science lesson totally cool!
This week we also learned about the Bible story of Daniel and the Lion's Den.  At center time, we made lion masks and practiced our lion roars!  I'm not sure if they were more scary or more adorable!?

We are looking forward to our Thanksgiving party this Friday!  I will be posting those photos the week after Thanksgiving, as there is no school next Wednesday-Friday :).

Peace and joy,
Miss Brooklyn
